1. Introduction
Welcome to CoAlign.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the CoAlign website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
CoAlign provides tools designed to help parents coordinate shared parenting responsibilities. These tools may include:
Messaging between linked users
Shared calendars and scheduling
Parenting-related records and notes
Document storage and organisation
The Service is intended to assist with communication and organisation but does not provide legal, mediation, counselling, or dispute resolution services.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service.
By using the Service, you confirm that you:
Are legally able to enter into these Terms
Will use the Service in compliance with applicable laws
4. User Accounts
To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account.
You agree to:
Provide accurate and current information
Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials
Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
5. User Content
The Service allows users to create and share content including messages, schedules, records, and uploaded files (“User Content”).
You retain ownership of your User Content.
However, by submitting content to the Service, you grant CoAlign a limited license to store, process, display, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.
Users are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to upload, store, and share any documents, records, or information through the Service, including information relating to children. By uploading content, users confirm that they have the authority to share that information with other linked users within the Service.
6. Shared Information Between Users
Some content within the Service is shared with other linked users.
This may include:
Messages
Calendar events
Notes
Uploaded documents
Once shared with another user, that user may retain access to the information as part of the shared record within the Service.
CoAlign does not control how other users may use or retain shared information.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
Upload unlawful or harmful content
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems
Interfere with the operation or security of the Service
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
8. No Legal or Professional Advice
CoAlign is a technology platform only.
The Service does not provide legal advice, mediation services, counselling, or dispute resolution.
Any decisions made by users based on information stored or communicated through the Service are the responsibility of the users involved.
Users should seek appropriate professional advice where necessary.
9. Data Storage and Availability
While we aim to maintain reliable access to the Service, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Data stored in the Service may be subject to:
Maintenance periods
Technical issues
Infrastructure limitations
We are not responsible for data loss caused by factors outside our reasonable control.
Users are encouraged to export or retain copies of important records where necessary.
10. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the app or by contacting support.
Upon account deletion:
Your personal account information may be removed
Some shared data may remain accessible to other linked users to preserve shared records
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the Service.
11. Intellectual Property
All software, branding, and content related to the Service (excluding User Content) are owned by CoAlign or its licensors.
You may not:
Copy
Modify
Reverse engineer
Distribute
any part of the Service without permission.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CoAlign and its operators shall not be liable for:
Indirect or consequential damages
Loss of data
Loss of relationships or disputes between users
Decisions made based on information stored within the Service
Use of the Service is at your own risk.
13. Records and User Disputes
The Service allows users to create and store messages, schedules, records, and other information.
CoAlign does not verify the accuracy, completeness, or authenticity of information entered by users. Information stored within the Service may not represent a complete or official record of communications or events.
CoAlign is not responsible for resolving disputes between users or for how information within the Service is interpreted or used by third parties.
14. Requests for User Information
CoAlign does not routinely monitor, review, or verify the content of user communications or records stored within the Service.
Requests from third parties for access to user information, including legal requests, must follow applicable legal processes. CoAlign may disclose information only where required by law.
CoAlign is not responsible for maintaining records on behalf of users for legal proceedings, and users are responsible for retaining copies of any information they may require.
15. Service Changes
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the Service at any time.
We may also update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws in your country of residence.
