Frequently Asked Questions.

What is CoAlign?

CoAlign is an app for separated parents to manage messages, calendar events, care arrangements, time swaps, handover notes, documents, and shared records in one place.

Do both parents need an account?

Yes. Shared messaging, records, and syncing work once both parents are registered and linked.

Do both parents need to share contact details?

No. Only one parent needs the contact details of the other to send a connection request. Contact details such as email addresses are not shared between parents through the app.

Once connected, all communication happens within CoAlign, so personal contact details remain private.

How do parents connect?

One parent sends a link request and the other accepts it. Once linked, shared areas sync across both accounts.

Can I use CoAlign on multiple devices?

Yes. You can sign in on multiple devices. Your data stays connected to your account.

Can we message each other?

Yes. Messaging includes timestamps, history, attachments, and notifications.

What do Sent, Received, and Read mean?

Sent = delivered to server. Received = downloaded to device. Read = opened by the other parent.

What happens if I send a message offline?

It is saved locally and sent automatically when your connection returns.

What is the difference between a care arrangement and a time swap?

A care arrangement is the regular schedule. A time swap is a one-off change that requires approval.

Do time swaps need approval?

Yes. A time swap only applies once accepted.

What are handover notes?

Dated records used to track what was communicated or handed over on a specific day.

Can both parents see handover notes?

Yes. Notes are shared, but each parent controls their own content.

Can I upload documents?

Yes. You can upload shared or private documents within the app.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. Some actions are saved locally and sync later when online.

Is my information secure?

Yes. CoAlign uses encryption, secure authentication, and trusted cloud infrastructure.
